In March 2008, the monthly growth of producer prices of manufactured goods was 0.1% and the annual growth was 3.3%.
Output prices up by 0.1%
Compared with February 2008, in March 2008 the output price index was 100.1. The prices of manufactured goods on the domestic market were 0.5% higher, while the prices of export products were 0.3% lower.
In March we recorded higher prices in the following activities: manufacture of clothes, tanning and treatment of fur (by 1.3%).
0.5% monthly increase in the producer prices of manufactured goods on the domestic market:
In March prices increased in manufacture of clothes, tanning and treatment of fur (by 2.5%), manufacture of leather and leather products (by 1.6%), except machinery and equipment (by 1.2%).
Higher prices of clothes and footwear, as a result of the sale of new collections and the end of seasonal discounts, contributed to the total domestic price index 0.04 of a percentage point.
In March 0.3% price decrease of export products:
In March output prices on the non-domestic market were lower by 0.3%: also the prices of export products were lower by the same percent in the euro area and in the non-euro area.
Export prices decreased in manufacture of manufacture of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres (by 0.7%), and manufacture of leather and leather products (by 0.5%), and in other activities.
