2010 as recovery year for Italian textile machinery manufacturers

Preliminary 2010 data drawn up by ACIMIT (the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) show a decisive recovery under way for Italy’s textile machinery sector, in the wake of a 2009 which had been marked by a conspicuous drop in production. In terms of value, Italy’s textile machinery production recorded an 18% increase with respect to 2009, from 1.9 to 2.3 billion Euros. Exports drew a similarly favourable increase, at +19%, reaching a value of just under 1.8 billion Euros.Obviously, these gains in sales and orders are a physiological consequence of the minimum levels of the previous two-year period. Exempt MMF from import duties – CITI

The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) has placed its Pre-Budget Memorandum for 2011-2012 for the perusal of the Finance Minister of India, Mr Pranab Mukerjee.CITI has recommended that it is important to exempt duties imposed on imports of man-made fibres (MMF) to help the textile sector source the raw material in large volumes at affordable prices.CITI has pointed out that, globally MMF is the most dominantly consumed textile fibre and the ratio between man-made fibres and cotton fibre consumption is 60:40 globally while in India it is 41:59 (2009-10).The recommendation adds that the share of man-made fibre based textile products...

New wool press comes up with higher efficiency

A wool press designed as well as built in Mosgiel has been launched in the market. It is the first no-tramp wool press that has come up in New Zealand after several years. Shearing Services will be selling the machines and P&W Engineering will be manufacturing them.The 60 percent hike in wool prices in the current season has once again diverted the focus on wool and wool growers as well as wool contractors are replacing their shearing machines. Almost three-fold increase in Rieter Textile Systems orders

The recovery in the textile machinery and automotive markets that had started in the second half of 2009 continued in 2010. Despite the usual seasonal effects at Automotive Systems in the second six months, demand over the course of the year as a whole was at a considerably higher level than in the previous year.Orders received by the Rieter Group in the 2010 financial year totaled 3’170.0 million CHF. Wanjie Group places order for PSF spinning plant

Wanjie Group Co. Ltd. based in China has ordered for a complete polyester staple fibre (PSF) spinning plant from Oerlikon Neumag based in Germany.
