June 20, 2008 (Germany)
Fritz P. Mayer, Managing Partner of Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH, has been elected Chairman of the Textile Machinery Association within VDMA on June 6 in Berlin. Prior to this, the member companies of the Textile Machinery Association had elected their new board of directors for the period until 2011 during their general meeting.
Mayer succeeds to the office Johann Philipp Dilo, who has led the Association since 2005. The new board of directors appointed as Vice-Chairmen Heinrich Trützschler, Managing Partner of Trützschler GmbH & Co. KG and Karlheinz Liebrandt, Co-owner of Liba Maschinenfabrik GmbH.
By electing Mayer as Chairman during the constitutive meeting, the board adopted the proposal made by the leaving chairman Philipp Dilo. Long years of experience at the top of a medium-scale company and exposure to the Chinese market are core competencies for a Chairman, Dilo had outlined.
Fritz P. Mayer has participated in the management of Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik since 1980. The company founded in 1980 in the Hessian Obertshausen (abt. 30 km East of Frankfurt) is the world’s leading manufacturer of warp knitting and Raschel machines. Today, Karl Mayer has 3,000 employees in Germany, Brazil, China, Great Britain, Italy, Japan and the US.
