New KARL MAYER ML series upgrades the production of lace

On the one hand, standard lace is one of the essential ingredients in the successful repertoires of lingerie and clothing manufacturers. On the other hand, these delicate fabrics are among those textiles that are subject to the rapidly changing trends of the fashion world, which make increasingly stringent demands of the production technology. Above all, the demand is for the efficient production of even short runs, short changeover times and flexible patterning possibilities – and all this must be achieved for the lowest possible purchasing price.

KARL MAYER has reorganised the set-up of its ML series of machines so that it can optimally support those customers who operate on the fast-moving lace market with its extreme cost constraints.

As of the first quarter of 2012, all the electronic Multibar Lace machines can be bought from KARL MAYER China, and machine types ML 41, ML 34 and ML 46 will be available.

This shift in production should enable the KARL MAYER Group to network all its regional centres of excellence in the best possible way. Solar machine to revolutionize Indian silk reeling

The traditional tiring technique of reeling silk, under which first cocoons are soaked in a pot and then yarn is spun manually, is likely to come to an end with the launch of the Solar Multi Muga Reeling cum Spinning Machine.

The new machine is so devised that it can simultaneously carry out the reeling as well as spinning jobs for different varieties of silk like Mulberry, Muga, Eri and Tasar without any laborious human effort.

The new machine is a brain child of Mr. Manoharmayum Manihar Sharma, an innovator and a master craftsman of Adarsh Kartha (Marked) Industries based in Nongmeibung Pung Makhong, near Imphal, the capital of Northeast Indian State of Manipur.

The machine designed by Mr. Manihar uses a solar plate to operate, which has a capacity to charge 17 volt to 15 watt on a usual sunlit day.

In the absence of sunlight, the machine has a 12 volt-2 amp charger attached to it, which acts as a back-up to support its operations.

With five reeling heads, the normal dimensions of the machine are 28x 20x 12, and each of the reeling heads has a separate electric switch. Thus, even when one reeling head is switched off, the other heads can still operate normally.

A beautiful textile technique behind festive lingerie set

Christmas is the time for snug hats, cosy gloves and warm coats – yet you would be surprised at the beautiful, seductive textile hidden under all this arctic clothing. When the wraps are off, something unexpected may be revealed – as the example illustrated here shows. This festive lingerie set comprises a halter-neck top and a pair of briefs made from the subtly patterned fabric bands produced on KARL MAYER’s RSJ 4/1.

Ornamental effects and snaking tendrils form the central theme of this romantic, lace-like pattern. The filigree motifs run towards two wide, lengthwise stripes, which enclose a spotnet ground featuring a delicate spotted look in the centre.

The textile construction, which is reminiscent of the Pointillism style of painting, attractively complements the simple net construction that forms the background to the decorative effects. The edges of the decorative bands run towards the Paisley patterns on the outside with their stylised wavy shapes and flat border.

Two of the fabric bands were sewn together horizontally to produce the briefs and the body section of the top. With its high level of stretch in the working direction, this clever textile guarantees an excellent fit and lies smoothly against the body to provide a high degree of comfort.
