SRF Technical Textiles Business posts excellent numbers

Aided by the economic upturn, SRF Limited, a multi-business entity engaged in the manufacture of chemical based industrial intermediates, posted an all time high net profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 111 crore for the fourth quarter of 2009-10, recording a 423% increase over the corresponding period last year (CPLY). Refinancing fund to revive jute sector

In its attempt to restore the jute industry, Bangladesh Bank (BB) has created Tk 5 billion worth re-financing fund for them. The fund was recently approved by the Board of Directors of BB and it will be distributed to 16 public listed jute mills, through state-owned commercial banks. The decision of creating this fund came in accordance with the Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina’s directive of creating a fund, during a meet at her office in January.
